Joshua was confused. Why was he in such weird clothes and why is everything from old era. He had no idea how he reached that place and what is the purpose for him being there. It seemed he was in the train station. As the ticket collecter started collecting tickets he started panicking but when he reached his pockers he found a gold coloured ticket with the letter PP on it.Going further he meets an old lady who clears out his confusions to some extent. And later they meet the train conductor Teff who tells them how it is the ride of a lifetime and the tickets hold very important significance. As the Journey goes on Joshua warms up yo other people on the train or at least the ones with seats closest to his. His companions were Jason who was a bad guy, Tiffany, a trans woman and Madeline an influencer.
The stations were divided into different levels. There was heaven, hell and purgatory. Later in the journey it is revealed to them that are people who are dead and other people are almost dead and there in the train for a test ride. To Joshua this is a lucky chance as he is not completely dead. The journey of a lifetime was a bizaare experience. Many things to learn and many people to listen to. The detailed description of the worlds, as well as the characters were very fascinating to read. The writing style of the author makes it easy to picture the whole story and makes hard details less difficult to understand. As the story progressed a sense of suspense started building inside me as I found myself wondering about the next station or a backstory of a character. I loved the diversity in characters and their backstories were sad as well as eye opening. The book has a kind of serene vibe to it. If you are looking for book that is peaceful and can be read in a day, definitely check out Soul Train.

TEN Questions with Melissa Reeves

1. Can you please introduce yourself and tell us something about your book "And Then I Laughed" Answer:  My name is Melissa and I am a single widow of four young children who are my reason for everything I do. I love being creative and have loved to write since a young age. Introducing myself feels strange right now. I am still in the process of rediscovering who I am in the midst of being a widow and a mother, a journey I think all mothers face. I am much more interested in the company I keep than where I want to be. It doesn't matter where I go, as long as I am around people I love. I spent many years traveling, being very mobile and sometimes homeless so I enjoy my little house and the stability and coziness it gives my family. Maybe one day I will be open to exploring again, but for now I am enjoying the calm of four walls.  2. When did you get the thoughts of writing this book?  Answer:  This book, And Then I Laughed, is the cul...

This deeply personal recounting serves as a catalyst for Proctor’s self-reflection and transformation, showcasing his journey through grief and resilience.
