Life in the Lion's Den by Eli Carroll

BOOK: Life in the Lion's Den
AUTHOR:  Eli Carroll

*My Ratings* : 4.6/5 ⭐

We are all born into this world with a pure soul. A soul free of colour, just like a blank canvas. Which is why it is always under evil's watchful eyes. It looks for a way to taint that beautiful blank soul. Only the word and the utmost faith in our lord can protect us from the clutches of evil.
For Michael, life has been anything but decent. The constant trials, the temptations, desires, the worldly indulgence , all of this and things much worse had made his body, his mind, and his spirit tired and beaten up. Since his childhood, he had always been a prey to evil exploitations, such as sexul molestations, drugs, prostitution, etc. Even if he would try to get closer to God,even a little bit,the devil will try to steer him towards his addictions and put obstacles in his path which would make him lose his trust in his relationship with the Lord and he would revert back to his old addictions. It would continue to go on till years and the cycle seemed never ending but the Lord put faith in Michael and always protected him. After putting his trust in the Lord bit by bit, God blessed him with better things and better opportunities. He kept trying his best to be the best father to his sons and a better son to the almighty father. And finally with the love of God, he lives a life of Glory towards the heavenly Father.
This story is a really great example of trust and faith in the Lord and the tellings of his blessings towards his children. In life, evil will always interfere and try to bring you down to his path but God will always stay there for you through thick and thin. Don't be burdened by his love and trust his decisions. This story really helped me understand the love God has for us. Definitely give this one a read. It is very inspiring and will help you walk towards the light.

TEN Questions with Melissa Reeves

1. Can you please introduce yourself and tell us something about your book "And Then I Laughed" Answer:  My name is Melissa and I am a single widow of four young children who are my reason for everything I do. I love being creative and have loved to write since a young age. Introducing myself feels strange right now. I am still in the process of rediscovering who I am in the midst of being a widow and a mother, a journey I think all mothers face. I am much more interested in the company I keep than where I want to be. It doesn't matter where I go, as long as I am around people I love. I spent many years traveling, being very mobile and sometimes homeless so I enjoy my little house and the stability and coziness it gives my family. Maybe one day I will be open to exploring again, but for now I am enjoying the calm of four walls.  2. When did you get the thoughts of writing this book?  Answer:  This book, And Then I Laughed, is the cul...

Faith, Strength, and Courage by Gregory O. Proctor

"Faith, Strength, and Courage: A Memoir of Overcoming Adversity & Embracing Life's Journey" by Gregory O. Proctor is a powerful narrative of resilience and personal growth. The memoir, introduced by Shonda Allen Hill, Ph.D., sets an emotional tone with a foreword that highlights Proctor's multifaceted nature—vulnerable yet powerful, empathetic yet demanding. Proctor's story is profoundly honest and evocative, with one of the most moving sections detailing the death of his father. This deeply personal recounting serves as a catalyst for Proctor’s self-reflection and transformation, showcasing his journey through grief and resilience. The memoir also candidly addresses the challenges of professional life as a Black American in a predominantly white corporate world, filled with systemic barriers and prejudice.
