The Unproposed Guy by Bhavik Sarkhedi

BOOK: The Unproposed Guy
AUTHOR: Bhavik Sarkhedi

*My Ratings* : 4.6/5 ⭐

If anyone would ask me to review this book in just one word it would be either quirky or a must read. The book is about a person who is really having a tough time getting his crushes to fall for him( you guessed that by the title only I think). Well, the book by Suhana Bhambhani and Bhavik Satkhedi is nothing like what I have read till now, it was such a fun ride and sadly relatable too.

The story is about Kevin, a genuine humble and with a talent of entertaining people and always manages to get a laugh out of girls and boys. But being an introvert doesn't help him, he always gets declined and has some peculiar ways and just when you think that this time something could happen for our hero, his bad luck comes into his way. Because of all this rejections and everything Kevin starts to go through "Existential Crisis"( yes the book is not only about proposals and crushes but also with some serious stuff). The story covers Kevin's journey through his existential Crisis phase and also helps us to get the answer to whether he will find the love of his life or not?

I loved the way the book is written, it is different and the amount of sarcasm and humor makes it a fun read. For me it was a wholesome read I connected to the story from right to the point after chapter 4 where Kevin's Feats kick in and that really got me into this book, the references of TV shows like Friends, HIMYM works, as it helps one to know that the character is familiar.

The book was a great read and will be a good read for the lovers of the contemporary fiction genre but if you are to take my advice go for it you'll not be disappointed.

TEN Questions with Melissa Reeves

1. Can you please introduce yourself and tell us something about your book "And Then I Laughed" Answer:  My name is Melissa and I am a single widow of four young children who are my reason for everything I do. I love being creative and have loved to write since a young age. Introducing myself feels strange right now. I am still in the process of rediscovering who I am in the midst of being a widow and a mother, a journey I think all mothers face. I am much more interested in the company I keep than where I want to be. It doesn't matter where I go, as long as I am around people I love. I spent many years traveling, being very mobile and sometimes homeless so I enjoy my little house and the stability and coziness it gives my family. Maybe one day I will be open to exploring again, but for now I am enjoying the calm of four walls.  2. When did you get the thoughts of writing this book?  Answer:  This book, And Then I Laughed, is the cul...

Faith, Strength, and Courage by Gregory O. Proctor

"Faith, Strength, and Courage: A Memoir of Overcoming Adversity & Embracing Life's Journey" by Gregory O. Proctor is a powerful narrative of resilience and personal growth. The memoir, introduced by Shonda Allen Hill, Ph.D., sets an emotional tone with a foreword that highlights Proctor's multifaceted nature—vulnerable yet powerful, empathetic yet demanding. Proctor's story is profoundly honest and evocative, with one of the most moving sections detailing the death of his father. This deeply personal recounting serves as a catalyst for Proctor’s self-reflection and transformation, showcasing his journey through grief and resilience. The memoir also candidly addresses the challenges of professional life as a Black American in a predominantly white corporate world, filled with systemic barriers and prejudice. Proctor’s determination and resolve are evident as he navigates these obstacles. His narrative takes a poignant turn with the diagnosis of mult...
